Here are some of the most frequently asked questions our team receives about what to expect when you are getting an eye exam without insurance:

What Does Eye Insurance Cover?

Most insurance plans will cover at least a portion of the cost of a comprehensive eye exam, and some plans will cover the entire cost. However, if you do not have insurance, you may be responsible for the full cost of the exam. Luckily, Bogey Hills Vision provides many self-payment options including vouchers to help offset the cost.

No matter the state of your eyes, it is always important to schedule a routine eye exam to make sure you have the correct len prescription for your eye health.

After your eye exam, if prescription glasses are needed, our team will help you find a pair that not only looks great on your face, but also fits your budget needs. Our Single Vision Glass Voucher includes a full eye exam (including glaucoma screening), Optos Retinal imaging, refraction testing to determine your prescription and a complete set of single vision glasses including frame up to $150.00 retail price and plastic lenses. Along with this our voucher includes a one year warranty covering manufacturers defects in frame or lenses for a total price of $150.

Additional pairs are available at half-off normal retail price, so you always have the perfect pair!

What Self-Payment Options Are Available in Addition to the Vouchers?

You can choose either a standard appointment where you pay as normal, or a purchasable voucher, which can be transferred to anyone and redeemed at any time for exams, glasses, contacts, and/or eye care.

Can I Do An Eye Exam Online?

While some places may offer eye exams online, we find these to be an inaccurate method for diagnosing eye conditions and prescribing corrective lenses. To get the best comprehensive eye care, it is best to request an in-person appointment at our office in St. Charles!
